As a member of Slow Food Phoenix, you have the benefit of voting in the elections that determine board members. Vote now through Monday, July 18th at 11:59pm.

Place all votes at the link below. As per chapter bylaws, board member elections must occur once every two years; descriptions for new board seats are posted for your reference below. Please note that only one vote per person will be counted. Voting is limited to current, dues-paying members of Slow Food USA; if you are not a member, but would like to be, please visit the Slow Food USA website.
All candidates, regardless of status, will be notified of results the week of July 18th, 2022 via email. Results will be publicly announced in the coming weeks.
Position DESCRIPTIONS
1. SLOW FOOD PHOENIX CHAIR
The Chair liaises with the Regional Governor, the Slow Food USA national office, and other Chapter Chairs in the region. The Chair creates meeting agendas, runs general meetings, acts as one of at least two signing authorities for the chapter bank account, acts as primary contact for the group, oversees the activities of the chapter, and ensures that the chapter is meeting all annual requirements. Co-Chairs may share the above duties.
2. VICE CHAIR
The Vice Chair supports the chair, acts in the Chair’s stead when the Chair is unavailable, and may oversee the sub- committees.
3. SECRETARY
The Secretary produces minutes for Chapter Board meetings and the Annual Membership meeting. Maintains Chapter manual for board members.
4. TREASURER
The Treasurer records the income and expenditures of the chapter, reports financial status to the board, manages the chapter’s annual tax filing requirements, acts as one of at least two signing authorities for the Chapter bank account, prepares an annual report and budget for the Chapter, at least quarterly reports for the board and may set fundraising goals and activities for the chapter.
5. MEMBERSHIP CHAIR
The Membership Chair maintains and updates the chapter’s membership list and reports membership status at each board meeting. The membership chair may seek ways to recruit and retain members.
6. FUNDRAISING CHAIR
The Fundraising Chair develops and manages fundraising campaigns for Slow Food Phoenix. Fundraising should work in tandem with the Events Chair and Communications Chair along with their Co-Chairs.
7. EVENTS/PROGRAMS CHAIR
The Events Chair directs the overall calendar and coordination of Slow Food Phoenix chapter events. While managing the events committee, the Events Chair works in tandem with the communications and fundraising committees where needed to collaborate with community partners and promote the local work of Slow Food Phoenix via events and campaigns throughout the year. This voluntary position exists for the purposes of member, partner, and community participation and retention as well as program, event, fundraising, and overall Slow Food mission awareness.
8. MEMBER AT LARGE – CO-CHAIR EVENTS/PROGRAMS
The Board Member At-Large (Events/Programs Co-Chair) position requires a general commitment to assist in areas of need for Slow Food Phoenix communications and marketing.
9. COMMUNICATIONS CHAIR
The Communications Chair directs the overall comprehensive marketing and communications strategy for the Slow Food Phoenix chapter. In working independently or through the development and management of a committee, this voluntary position oversees a consistent and active communication plan for the purposes of member, partner, and community participation and retention as well as program, event, fundraising, and overall mission awareness.
10. MEMBER AT LARGE – CO-CHAIR COMMUNICATIONS
The Board Member At-Large (Communications Co-Chair) position requires a general commitment to assist in areas of need for Slow Food Phoenix communications and marketing.
11. ADVOCACY CHAIR
The Advocacy Chair position directs the overall comprehensive advocacy strategy for the Slow Food Phoenix chapter. This includes building and implementing initiatives that serve the Slow Food mission.
