Nicole Lynch

Nicole’s work history includes working for US West Cellular as a major account representative during the inception years of cellular phones, an account representative in a leading public affairs firm in San Diego, an international flight attendant for three years (so that she could see the world), and an incentive and meeting planner for twenty years. She returned from retirement to work as Program Director with Blue Watermelon Project, a non-profit organization of chefs, restaurateurs, farmers, and community food advocates working to bring good food, equal and fair access to it, and systemic food systems reform, to students and schools in Arizona.

She became a Master Gardener of Maricopa County in 2003, joined the MG Board as Director of Public Events, promoting, advising and/or managing the Fall Garden Festival (2003-2006), Spring Garden Tour (2003-2006), Citrus Clinic (2003-2005) among other events.  Nicole was awarded Master Gardener of the Year in 2004.  In 2006, she was hired to develop and manage the South West Youth Garden Conference where teachers and administrators were invited from all of Arizona for a one day curriculum of gardens in the classroom.  Since 2005, she has helped build six school gardens.  One of which, she helped incorporate and wrote garden learning programs for the kindergarten, first and second grades.  Nicole also volunteers with Healthy Schools Coalition, Arizona, bringing funding to build school garden programs.
