Schooled Lunch Challenge: Chef Danielle Leoni and CCAP

October 14 @ 10:30 am - 11:30 am

Free

Kick off the school lunch conversation with local chefs as they join forces with students in the Careers in Culinary Arts Program for a mini-series of cooking demonstrations at Phoenix farmers markets this coming National Farm to School Month.

Armed with the budget of the current National School Lunch Program at $3.23 per student and the day’s market selections, each chef will create a family-friendly and wholesome dish that kids are sure to dig.

Occurring Saturday October 7th and Saturday October 14th in partnership with Phoenix Public Market and Uptown Farmers Market, Schooled Lunch Challenge kicks off a larger series of events happening throughout the month of October as a part of our Slow Food in Schools effort to raise awareness around the current state of food served in schools. Attendance at each demonstration is free and open to all, though seating and samples may be limited. Food samples are free, and recipes will be available after each event on this website.
